Class A Driver

Noonan Energy is a fifth-generation family-owned business looking for a full-time qualified and experienced Class A driver with experience hauling fuel and delivering home heating oil in a straight truck.

Job Summary:

The fuel delivery driver will safely and efficiently haul fuel throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut and deliver home heating oil and diesel fuel in a timely and professional manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Compensation:

Salary: $60,000-$80,000

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
• Transports fuel safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
• Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas.
• Loads and offloads fuel safely, correctly and efficiently.
• Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.
• Ensures the delivery vehicle receives basic service according to the maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to the supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to drive safely.
• Ability to use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
• Ability to plan delivery routes.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment Department of Transportation-approved physical
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to subsequent random drug tests throughout tenure as mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
• Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.

Education and Experience:

• Valid Class A Driver’s license w/hazmat/tank endorsement and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.
